October 19, 2000 By admin

A deadline is fast approaching for Iowans who have claims in a class-action lawsuit against American General Insurance Company. Iowa Insurance Division spokesman Scott Kinney says the case involves discrimination. He says people were sold policies with higher rates if they weren’t white. Kinney says those involved in the case were sent a notice and have until November 6th to determine their settlement.Kinney says those involved don’t have to do anything. If consumers don’t respond, they’re automatically included in the preset settlement. Kinney says anyone with questions can call the Iowa Insurance Division at 877-955-1212.
