Deer can be deadly

October 24, 2000 By admin

A wildlife expert says deer are more dangerous than any other wild animal. Rich Patterson of the Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids says the whitetail deer kills more Americans every year than any other animal.Patterson says nearly all the injuries and deaths are from car accidents involving a deer.Patterson says this is the mating season for deer, so they abandon their normal habitat and roam the countryside.Patterson says he ran into a deer in Montana a few years ago and it wasn’t a pleasant experience.Patterson says you’re most likely to encounter a deer on a road that runs through a brushy or woodsy area.
