Northern Iowa basketball coach Sam Weaver says the Panthers will have a purple and gold scrimmage Saturday afternoon prior to U-N-I’s home football game. The Panthers have a number of newcomers but Weaver says the experience of four returning starters has shown in practice.Weaver says the emphasis has been on the defensive end in practice and they are just now beginning to work on the offense.Weaver says defense dominated in their first scrimmage last weekend and they hope to see the offense pick up his week.
