Authorities in southwest Iowa are warning residents to be on the lookout for a dangerous exotic animal that’s attacked at least one resident. An African breed of goat called an Oryx (or-x) attacked a woman outside of Thurman last Friday. The woman’s german shephard distracted the animal so she could escape to the safety of her house. One other resident has seen the animal, which apparently escaped from a nearby animal shelter. The Oryx is believed to be running around the hills near a rock quarry. Officials urge residents to use caution if they see it.
