Three cities added to Mainstreet Iowa program

Three new Iowa cities have been added to the “Main Street Iowa” state economic development program. Iowa Department of Economic Development spokesman Thom Guzman says Central City, State Center and Story City were approved through the annual application process.Guzman says the D-E-D helps the communities sell their downtown areas.Guzman says the program has made an impact since it began in 1985 as they seen over 271-million dollars privately invested in the Main Street downtowns.Guzman says the Central City, State Center and Story City communities have all raised private funds that will help the Main Street Iowa effort.
