October 31, 2000 By admin

A 35-year-old man in Des Moines was struck by a train early this morning and knocked off a bridge. Des Moines Police lieutenant Kelly Willis says Darin Standee is in fair condition in a hospital. The accident happened at about 3:30 this morning, and Willis says cops found fishing poles, a cold bucket of beer, and three empty cans near the spot where Standee was struck.Willis says Standee was apparently fishing off the trestle, and appeared to be intoxicated. Willis says the bridge was clearly marked “no trespassing.”
