ISU to name new AD today

The Daily Oklahoman is reporting Oklahoma associate athletic director Bruce Van De Velde has been chosen to become the new athletic director at Iowa State. Iowa State has scheduled a news conference today to make the announcement. Van De Velde graduated from I-S-U and was a former Cyclone assistant football coach. During his weekly news conference, Iowa State coach Dan McCarney had little to say about the speculation.Iowa State visits Kansas State this week. McCarney says the health situation is good. Senior safety Dustin Avey has returned to practice after sitting out the Missouri game with a stinger in his neck.Last year Iowa State led K-State 28-7 at half before the Wildcats rallied for the win. McCarney says last year’s game is the furthest thing from their mind.
