Now that we’re into November, many Iowans will start thinking about the annual ritual of sending out holiday greeting cards. A non-profit Iowa organization that enhances the quality of life for children with cancer is selling holiday cards designed by special artists.Tony Timm, associate director of the Heart Connection Children’s Cancer Programs, says the cards are designed by children, ages five to 18, who are participants in the group’s summer camp program, or by their siblings. The camps are free to children diagnosed with cancer as well as their brothers and sisters. Timm says the holiday cards are beautiful and affordable.A 20-card pack sells for ten dollars. Larger packages are available for customers who want big orders, or for corporations. Timm says all of the money generated by the cards is used for summer camps for kids and supporting year-round programs for families.Timm says 100-percent of the proceeds support the summer camps and year-round family programs.
