Iowa company increases it lab space

November 9, 2000 By admin

A Des Moines-based company has opened a new “innovation center” which officials say will yield new uses for Iowa commodities. Kemin Industries President John Greaves says his company started expansion plans four years ago. Kemin opened that research and development facility yesterday to add 15-thousand square feet of laboratory space.Greaves says his company is linked to Iowa farmers as they deliver a range of “nutritional enhancements” for food and animals. He says they provide all the lutein that goes into vitamin supplements and will soon add a line of lutein primed eggs.Kemin has added 64 jobs to its Des Moines operation since 1996, and expects to add more.
