Forecasters say a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is headed for Iowa. The storm system should arrive tomorrow or as late as Sunday. Miles Schumacher, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in metro Des Moines, can’t yet say how much snow the state may receive. While Schumacher says as much as the northwest half of Iowa can expect some accumulation, he’s not concerned about driving becoming a major hazard. He’s says the snow won’t likely stick on the roads, unless they’re shaded.Schumacher says the storm system is being monitored as it organizes in the southwestern U-S and arcs toward Iowa.The National Weather Service forecast says there’s at least a chance of snow each of the next two days and Tuesday. Lows are expected in the 20s with highs ranging from the mid-20s to mid-40s.
