Nearly 500 Iowans are being sought by the Internal Revenue Service, but it’s to bring them good news, really! The I-R-S says 492 Iowa taxpayers still haven’t received their federal refund checks. Spokeswoman Donna Migazzi says the checks range in size from just one dollar to many thousands of dollars. She says many people moved and forgot to register their change of address with the agency, so the checks were sent back to Uncle Sam. Migazzi says there are other reasons why the checks don’t reach their intended parties, including one to an Iowan worth more than 11-thousand dollars.Iowans who think they may be among those who’re overdue for a refund check can call the I-R-S toll-free around-the-clock at 800-TAX-10-40.
