Sioux City based drug task force wins award

November 16, 2000 By admin

The Tri-State Drug Task Force based in Sioux City has received an award for its work in stopping drug trafficking in the Midwest. U-S Attorney Stephen Rapp says the award is from the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Board, a group that oversees drug-fighting efforts in six states.Rapp says the Tri-State Task Force was responsible for breaking up a major methamphetamine ring. Sioux City police Chief Joe Frisbie says these types of task forces are important. The Midwest award makes the Tri-State Drug Task Force eligible for a national award that’ll be announced in December.
