An eastern Iowa man will be re-tried in the slaying of a family member. A Jones County man who was convicted in 1998 of killing his father will get a new trial, after a ruling from the state Supreme Court. The conviction of 19-year-old Nathan Watson was overturned as the high court ruled Watson’s lawyer had a conflict of interest by representing a woman who was a witness for the prosecution.
