With the regular season out of the way Iowa State coach Dan McCarney can now focus on a new contract at the school. The Cyclones finished 8-3 and will be heading to their first bowl game since 1978. McCarney expects to sit down with new athletic director Bruce Van De Velde and discuss a new pact.McCarney says he has not visited with former I-S-U athletic director Gene Smith about the vacancy created at Arizona State when Smith fired Bruce Snyder last week.McCarney refused to say he would not consider any job opening. He says the people at ISU have shown him a lot of loyalty, but there are some things that need to be improved.
