Controversial students pleads guilty to drug charge

November 21, 2000 By admin

A former University of Iowa dental school student who made headlines earlier this year will plead guilty to a drug charge. Tarsha Claiborne, who is black, is accused of sending racist threats to her black classmates. Before her arrest in that case, police searched her apartment and found a small amount of marijuana. Claiborne will plead guilty to the drug charges but her attorney wants the sentencing for the charge to come -after- she goes to trial for the charges of sending racists e-mail messages. That trial is scheduled for March.
