Cedar Rapids ushers in Christmas season

November 23, 2000 By admin

Once Thanksgiving is behind us, thoughts will focus on the Christmas season ahead. One small community within the community of Cedar Rapids is holding a special candlelight tour tomorrow night and Saturday night.Vicki Hughes is director of Ushers Ferry Historic Village, which is a recreation of what a small Iowa village would have looked like a century ago. Hughes says the town is populated with people in period costumes, carrying out chores as if it were the year 1900.For more information on the village or the candlelight tour (which is Friday and Saturday only), call (319) 286-5763.
