Iowa consumers have a new tool to help in choosing a health care plan. A booklet being called “The Health Care Report Card” compares the services offered by six Iowa health plans, in hopes of helping consumers make informed choices.Scott Kinney, a spokesman for the Iowa Insurance Division, which created the booklet, along with the Iowa Department of Public Health, says the booklet covers a variety of health-related topics to guide people through what can be a very confusing process.Kinney says color-coded bar graphs and charts are used throughout the booklet to demonstrate differences between the health plans. The booklets are available free by calling, toll-free, 877-955-1212, or over the Internet at “www.iid.state.ia.us”.
