ISU downs depleted UNI

Iowa State used a quick start enroute to a 69-55 victory over Northern Iowa on Monday night. The Cyclones jumped out to a 10-0 lead before UNI scored Northern Iowa coach Sam Weaver says the Cyclones played like a veteran team.Weaver says he was proud of his team, which played without leading scorer Robbie Sieverding and leading rebounder Joe Breakenridge.Iowa State coach Larry Eustachy saw his team improve to 3-0. He says they didn’t get UNI’s best shot with two of the Panther’s best players out of action. Eustachy says he was happy with the victory as they did what was important to win the game.
