Hawks step up to challenge against ACC

The Iowa Hawkeyes pulled away from a seven-point halftime lead to down Georgia Tech 85-67 last night in the Big-Ten-ACC Challenge.Iowa coach Steve Alford says it was an incredible performance by his team. He says a good defense was a key to the win as his team was able to set the pace of the game.Tech center Alvin Jones had a game high 24-points but the Hawks held the Yellow Jackets to just six of 18 from three point range.Iowa freshman center Jared Reiner had eight-second half points and drew the assignment against Jones.Luke Recker led Iowa with 21-points while Reggie Evans had 17-points and added 15-rebounds.
