A tiny eastern Iowa town known for its Amish settlement is hosting what it calls an “Old Fashioned Christmas” today. Organizers of the events in Kalona say visitors won’t be able to help getting into the holiday mood.Ron Slechter is a member of the Kalona Chamber of Commerce. He says all of the historic buildings in the Amish village are decked out with lights and decorations.Slechter says the special events will be held today only but the village is open every day but Sunday through the holiday season.
