One of Iowa’s largest holiday displays is now open in the far southeast corner of the state. “The City of Christmas” in Keokuk boasts some 100 lighted displays comprised of nearly 200-thousand twinkling lights.Jean Meyer is secretary/treasurer of this year’s event in Keokuk. She says there are many new displays in the town’s Rand Park which are designed to bring joy and holiday fun — as well as to provoke thought and reverence.Meyer says admission to the The City of Christmas is free and a donation box is placed alongside the road halfway through.
