New Iowa logo now available on merchandise

Iowans who are looking for a little something extra for people on their holiday gift list might consider promoting their home state. It was the subject of much debate and eventually a statewide contest. Now, for the first time, Iowa’s new state slogan “Fields of Opportunities” is being sold on all sorts of official merchandise. Shawna Lode, spokesperson for the Iowa Division of Tourism, says the items include sweatshirts, t-shirts, mousepads, calculators, hats and notepads. Lode says it’s a chance to show pride in Iowa.Some of the gifts cost less than two-dollars, all sporting the logo of a yellow sun rising behind a green field.
