Vice President Gore should -not- concede the presidential election, not yet, according to fellow democrat and Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.Harkin predicts pending lawsuits that will force independent recounts of the votes eventually will find Gore won Florida, in addition to the U-S popular vote.As the election now stands, the strong possibility exists for the U-S Senate to have an historic, even division of power between republicans and democrats. Iowa Senator Tom Harkin thinks it could be “an interesting experiment” and he knows how he’d like to see things run.Harkin says if there’s a 50-50 split in power, there should be an equal division of power positions on committees, in staffing and even in the space provided in the capitol building.Harkin says new ground needs to be broken and the silver lining may be that co-chairs would be forced to work more closely together to reach common goals.
