Big winter storm is on the way

The National Weather Service says a major winter storm is expected to blow into Iowa by the end of the weekend.Dave Knollhoff, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s suburban Des Moines office, says Iowa won’t get the heavy snows predicted for other parts of the Midwest. He says the snow will stay mostly in the northern half of the state.Knollhoff says the heavy winds will make travel difficult, especially along Interstate 80.Knollhoff says travelers should keep an eye on the forecast Monday before heading anywhere.
