One of north-central Iowa’s biggest musical holiday celebrations takes place tomorrow in Mason City — and it involves some of the biggest instruments in the band. About 125 musicians are expected to fill the center court of Southbridge Mall for the 14th annual Tuba Christmas. Coordinator Al Zook says Tuba Christmas is teaming up with the Salvation Army to help raise funds for the group during the event. Zook says more than 110 musicians attended last year’s event, with more and more people playing every year. Rehearsal begins at the Mason City High School Band Room at 10:30 A-M with the event at Southbridge Mall at 1 P-M.Tuba and euphonium players from around the state are welcome to play in the event.
