An additional one to four inches of snow is falling across the state with the latest front to move through today. National Weather Service meteorologist Shane Searcy says the snow should slow as it continues across the state.Searcy says the snow will be all but over for most of the state by early evening.Temperatures have warmed into the double digits, but Searcy says that’s about as high as they’ll go.He says the snow on the ground helps keep the temperatures down by reflecting sunlight and keeping the ground from getting warmer. The sun’s energy is also used to melt the snow instead of warm the earth. Today’s snow again caused problems on the state’s highways. The State Patrol reported numerous accidents forced them to close Interstate 80 near Altoona twice today.
