Perry production features hometown Christmas

December 16, 2000 By admin

A unique holiday production opens tomorrow for a weeklong run in Perry at the Hotel Pattee. “A Hometown Christmas” was created for the historic hotel by Robert Smyth of the Lamb’s Players Theatre of San Diego, California.Smyth says the whole production is set in the year the Hotel Pattee opened in 1913. Smyth says the show blends original songs, stories and dances that celebrate the men, women and children who came from all over the world to settle on the Iowa prairie. The hotel’s owner had seen a similar production at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego and convinced Smyth to create a production just for the Hotel Pattee. Smyth says this is the second year the holiday tale will be woven in Perry. For ticket information, call 888 424-4268.
