Iowa Artist Featured on Holiday Card

A northwest Iowa artist’s work is featured on this year’s “official”greeting card from Iowa’s Governor, Lieutenant Governor and their spouses.Toni Grote of Breda, which is near Carroll, created a watercolor picture ofthe state capitol behind some of her trademark snowmen. Grote says the image is “whimsical.”In September, Grote was invited to paint a watercolor picture for thegreeting card.Grote’s work is for sale at the Octagon in Ames and in the Old Alley Galleryin Carroll. The greeting cards were used by Governor Tom and ChristieVilsack and Lieutenant Governor Sally Pederson and her husband, Jim Autry.
