UNI wins in Puerto Rico

Adam Wilde’s lay-up with nine seconds remaining lifted Northern Iowa to a 72-70 victory over American of Puerto Rico this afternoon in the Puerto Rico Holiday Classic. Senior forward Joe Breakenridge finished with 25-points and 13-rebounds to lead the Panthers.U-N-I trailed by as many as eight points in the second half and Breakenridge says solid defense down the stretch helped them climb back into the game.The Panthers are now 3-5 and will play Youngstown State tomorrow to close out the tournament.
