Man gives brother a leg full of lead for Christmas, gets new jail suit

A 26-year-old southeast Iowa man’s in jail, charged with shooting his older brother in the leg on Christmas Day. Van Buren County Sheriff Ron Parker says the shooting happened in 41-year-old Clifford Saner’s home about 15 miles north of the Iowa/Missouri border. A sister and a nephew were there, too.Younger brother Rodney Ray Saner was arrested last night along a highway near Selma, Iowa. The Sheriff says officers in a neighboring county spotted Saner’s car and trailed it ’til back-ups got there.Saner will be formally arraigned this afternoon, and will face felony charges. Clifford Saner is still in the hospital. The Sheriff says both brothers have criminal records.
