The Drake Bulldogs open the Missouri Valley Conference race tonight on the road at Wichita State. The Bulldogs closed out non-conference action with a record of 4-5 and after tonight, will visit Evansville. Drake coach Kurt Kanaskie says opening the league race on the road provides an opportunity for a quick start. Kanaskie says Wichita State will provide some challenges.Kanaskie says to win on the road, it takes some big baskets at crucial times.A victory tonight would be a milestone for the Bulldogs who have not won a Valley road game since February 17th of 1996, a span covering 37-games.
