Robbers strike several homes in Independence

A northeastern Iowa town was hit by a band of bold burglars over the weekend. Independence police say five homes were broken into late Saturday or early Sunday. Mostly purses and one car were stolen. People are advised to lock their doors and take the keys out of their cars.
