UNI women remain perfect in conference play

January 9, 2001 By admin

The Northern Iowa women remained unbeaten in Missouri Valley Conference play after an 83-74 victory at Southern Illinois last night. Panther coach Tony Dicecco says despite the win he was disappointed by what he called a sub-par performance. He says everyone is playing well against them now that they’re unbeaten, and they need to be better prepared to handle that pressure.Dicecco says the Panthers need to learn how to put teams away.Jill Siedl had 12-points on four of four from the field and four of four at the foul line as U-N-I maintains sole possession of the Valley lead.Siedl says she was “in the zone” and stepped up to do what was needed for her team.
