The company that produced the genetically modified StarLink corn has set up a website to help compensate those who grew and sold the corn. Farmers and elevators get less money for StarLink corn because it hasn’t been approved for human consumption. Assistant Iowa Attorney General Steve Moline says corn maker Aventis is trying to address concerns raised by its product.Moline says the website has information for farmers who grew StarLink or those who had corn nearby that was affected by StarLink corn. And he says there’s information for growers who’ve found unexplained evidence of Starling’s protein or D-N-A in their corn.Moline says it appears the information from Aventis will help solve some of the legal concerns surrounding the corn.He doesn’t know just how widespread the StarLink influence is on Iowa corn.To find the information on StarLink corn you can surf to: www.StarLinkcorn.com.
