Changing gears in mid-season can be difficult for a basketball coach but it has proven to be the right move for Simpson women’s coach Brian Niemuth. Simpson opened the season with a new half court style of play before Niemuth re-installed the up tempo style the Storm had perfected the past few seasons. Simpson has won five straight and leads the Iowa Conference with an 8-2 mark.Niemuth says he wanted the younger players to adapt before playing the full court style.Niemuth says it has helped the team make strides despite taking some lumps early.Simpson visits second place Luther Friday night.
