Iowa State’s Jamaal Tinsley was named the Big Twelve Player of the Week for his role in Cyclone victories at home against Colorado and at Nebraska. Tinsley had 52 points in the two games. After losing its previous two road games in overtime, the win at the buzzer against Nebraska Saturday was big. Cyclone Coach Larry Eustachy wouldn’t say a third straight close road loss would’ve been a big blow to his team’s ability to win on the road.As a coach, he also didn’t think it would have caused a great problem for the team. Eustachy says it wasn’t a lack of effort that’s led to the close ballgames. The win lifted Iowa State up five spots to 18th in the USA Today/Coaches top 25 college basketball poll. The Cyclones are 15-3 and will host Baylor Thursday.
