A Fairfield dance teacher and five of her students went to the Iowa Statehouse yesterday to lobby against the bill which would legalize dove hunting in Iowa. Rebecca Bachar says her fifth, sixth and seventh grade students have formed a “Rainforest Club” She says they’re trying to learn about environmental issues and this is the first one that came up.The girls and their teacher were barefoot and dressed in white, silk tunics to perform a dance. The girls made posters, and 12-year-old Megan Maurice quoted a Bible passage about doves on hers. The Senate will debate the dove bill this week.
