The mixture of snow, rain and ice is causing postal carriers in some parts of Iowa to think again before making today’s deliveries. Mason City postmaster Alan Steckman says it’ll be rough going for his letter carriers today and he’s letting the individual carriers decide about going out. He says they don’t want to endanger the carriers so they aren’t able to deliver mail later. Steckman says he’s had a number of his carriers injured this winter.Steckman says that familiar slogan associated with the post office is not always true. He says they’ll get the mail through eventually.Steckman says it’s been the worst winter he’s seen in his 16 years as Mason City’s postmaster.
