Drake Edges Evansville

Drake won its eighth straight home game by routing Evansville 80-55 at theKnapp Center. The Bulldogs used a 17-1 run in the opening half to takecommand and led 39-19 at the half in snapping a ten game losing streak inthe series. Drake shot 57-percent for the game and Coach Kurt Kanaskie saysthe Bulldogs followed the game plan to perfection. Andry Sola led Drake with21-points and added 13-rebounds and Joe Gaw tied his career high with16-points. Gaw says the Bulldogs shot well from three point range becausethey dominated in the paint.
