The route for the 2001 “Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa” was announced today. Sioux City is the starting point for RAGBRAI. Dennis Gann of the Sioux City Convention Center, Auditorium and Tourism Board says over 13-thousand bicyclists are expected. Gann says it’s one of the greatest invasions of people you’ll ever see.The second overnight stop is Storm Lake. Riders will then spend the night in Denison, Atlantic, Perry, Grinnell and Coralville. RAGBRAI ends in Muscatine on July 28th. The full route will be revealed in three weeks.
