ISU faces Kansas in Big Twelve showdown tonight

February 5, 2001 By admin

The 14th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones have a first place showdown at fifth- ranked Kansas tonight. The Cyclones will be looking for their second straight victory in Lawrence and Coach Larry Eustachy says that win should help their confidence. The Cyclones appear to have an advantage in the backcourt with Jamaal Tinsley and Kantrail Horton but Eustachy says Kirk Hinrich and Brent Boschee will hold their own. Kansas coach Roy Williams says the Cyclones cause a number of concerns. Williams says the Jayhawks will need a big night at the defensive end.
