Kossuth County will be the site of a new ethanol plant. Midwest Grain Processors announced today it will build a 57-million dollar plant west of Lakota. The plant will use 16-million bushels of corn a year to produce 45-million gallons of ethanol. Kossuth county supervisor chairman Bob Cinc says the new location has an ample supply of water. Construction will begin on the plant in June or July and is expected to be completed by 2002. Over 500 farmers from Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota have committed grain to the plant.
