Two of Iowa’s top politicians joined forces this morning to tout the expansion of the private “Face It Together” initiative. Senator Charles Grassley, a republican, and Governor Tom Vilsack, a democrat, say the goal is to fight the drug war from the supply side.”Face It Together” is led by Iowa business executives who plan to raise the money to develop workplace materials about substance abuse. The group also will host training sessions for clergy to teach ’em how to detect and then counsel addicts.The clergy training sessions will be held in Cherokee on May 14th and in Ames on May 15th. “Face It Together” also plans to work with local “Safe” community groups to encourage neighbors to watch out for drug dealing, and talk with kids about not using drugs.
