The Davenport City Council has decided it won’t ease up on parents when their kids commit crimes.Davenport Alderman voted to keep an ordinance that holds parents accountable when their kids break the law. Parents get a warning on the first offense. They must attend a parenting skills class on the second offense and then pay a fine of up to 750 dollars for a third offense. The City Council had considered dropping the ordinance — but juvenile court officials say the ordinance has helped reduce juvenile crime.
