Davenport police charge teen with lying about attack

Davenport police say an assault reported by a high school girl was made up. Police say the 16-year-old Davenport North girl told police she’d been lured into the school gym and assaulted under the bleachers. Officers say their investigation didn’t support the girl’s story and she later admitted to lying about the attack. She’s been charged with making a false report and was turned over to juvenile authorities.
