A 16-year-old Maquoketa girl has been sentenced for her role in an incident last fall that left another girl badly burned. Tara Tallman was ordered Monday to spend at least one year at the state training school in Toledo. Tallman and another girl used a lighter to set fire to Amanda O’Meara’s back, neck and hair in September during an argument over a boy. Tallman was also ordered to pay restitution for lost wages for O’Meara’s mother. Twelve-year-old Lynette Bodenhofer was sentenced in December to undergo psychiatric treatment at a state residential treatment facility for juveniles until she completes the program.
