An Iowa State University professor says there are now ways to measure hog lot odor, but the problem is how people react to odor in the air. Dr. Dwane Bundy says every situation we are in triggers responses from our bodies, many of them cause headaches. He says odor tests can help determine which manure application technique leads to the least odor on different types of land, be it hilly or flat, sand or clay. He believes that’s a real key to be able to prescribe different technologies for different people.Bundy testified before the Iowa Senate Natural Resources Committee yesterday afternoon.
