Bettendorf decides against Vision Iowa request

February 15, 2001 By admin

Bettendorf has decided not to submit an application to the Vision Iowa program for a Mississippi Riverfront project. The city wanted the state to help pay for a 33-million dollar performing arts center. Bettendorf Mayor Ann Hutchinson says the timetable to submit the application is too short and there’s not enough time to show the matching money required. Hutchinson says the city has to honor its promises to other projects.Hutchinson says the arts center will still be built, just not with state money.
