Iowa Senator Charles Grassley’s issuing a warning to the Senate’s G-O-P leader: “cool it.” Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott wants capital gains tax cuts, but Grassley, the new chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, says it’s NOT a priority. Capital gains tax cuts aren’t part of President Bush’s one-point-six trillion-dollar tax cut package, but many republicans want ’em in. Grassley says no way, and he says that’s the way President Bush wants it, too. Grassley made his comments during taping of Iowa Public Television’s “Iowa Press.”
