Fifth-ranked Michigan State dominated number 24 Iowa yesterday. The final in East Lansing: 94 to 70. Iowa got the first basket of the game, but seven minutes later the score was Iowa 2, Michigan State 16, and the Hawkeyes never recovered. Hawkeye freshman Courtney Scott says they’re all a little down on themselves..Scott, who grew up in Michigan and played high school ball in Lansing, scored seven points and had six offensive rebounds. Scott says turnovers killed the Hawks.Iowa is now 6-and-6 in the Big Ten, tied with Penn State for sixth place. Iowa has lost four straight, and coach Steve Alford says Wednesday’s game with Purdue is make or break. He says they need the win if they want to gain any postseason birth.Iowa shot below 40 percent for the fourth-straight game.
